Faux Wood is made from durable PVC plastic, which is waterproof and easy to clean. Our Real Wood blinds are made from 100% real basswood, come in fantastic colours, and feature deep grained textures.
Our Wooden Blinds have two sets of controls. Use the right hand cord to raise and lower the blind; as you raise the bottom bar, each slat stacks atop the other until the blind reaches the headrail where it cannot be raised any higher. Use the left hand cords to tilt the slats in either direction.
Wooden blinds block plenty of light, offering complete privacy when closed, but they cannot be considered a blackout product.
While the slats on wood blinds do overlap each other when closed, some light will still creep around each individual slat.
It is normal for up to two slats to sit on the bottom bar. This covers the punch holes in the bottom and minimises light seepage. On some of our blinds, a second slat sits on the bottom bar; this helps to block light when the blind is closed.
On all our Wooden Blinds it is normal for up to two slats to sit on the bottom bar, this is to cover the punch holes in the bottom bar and to minimise the light seepage. Sometimes you will have a second slat sat on the bottom bar, this is there to block the light when closed, and even though it may look like it shouldn’t be there – trust us it is meant to be!
It’s straightforward to measure for our wooden blinds. How you measure will depend on the way you want your blinds to fit – inside the recess or outside of it. For step-by-step instructions, see our full measuring guide for wooden blinds.
We provide a full fitting guide with each of our wooden blinds. This can be downloaded from our website, along with a short demonstration video. Please read and watch these carefully before installation to ensure the best fit for your wooden blinds.
You can clean your faux wood blinds by running a damp cloth over the slats. For real wood blinds, we recommend dusting them with a dry cloth or hoovering with the dust attachment.
If you want a classic yet flexible solution to your room, wooden blinds can’t be beaten for their timeless, stylish look. You can even choose from real wood or faux and from a broad selection of finishes to create the perfect style.
